DAS Modelling Clay - Wood

This is the strangest material I have ever worked with. It definitely doesn't behave like airdry clay, it is more like working with papier mache material - able to be sculpted over something (I made a cardboard form as a base) but not able to really hold a shape on its own. While sculpting with it I had very little hope - it didn't look like wood, was crumbly didn't like to stick to anything, wouldn't really take detail, and I couldn't see it drying with any strength. But as it dried (and as advertised, it is SLOW drying, and I'm saying that as an oil painter) it hardened really rigid and strong, sanded really nicely, able to have details carved into it, and actually looked like wood.

So overall, it was a bit hard to work with, but it did give the desired results eventually. After my lack of faith in its success it did redeem itself.
